Honourable Chairperson, respected judges, worthy opponents, teachers, and my dear friends,

Good morning.

Today, I stand before you to speak in favour of the motion:

“Spoken English is more powerful than Computer Skills.”

Let me begin with a simple but powerful question.

What is the use of having great knowledge if you cannot express it?

What is the use of mastering technology if you cannot communicate your ideas?

Ladies and gentlemen,

Skills may open a door, but communication opens the entire world.

In today's global age, English is not just a language. It is the language of opportunity, leadership, diplomacy, business, education, and international cooperation.

According to Nelson Mandela,

“If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart.”

This quote reminds us that language has the power to influence minds and touch hearts.

My respected opponents will speak about computer skills.

Yes, computer skills are important.

But let us remember one fact:

A computer is only a tool.

A tool cannot lead a team.

A tool cannot convince an audience.

A tool cannot negotiate a business deal.

A tool cannot inspire people.

Only communication can do that.

Ladies and gentlemen,

Every great leader in history changed the world not through machines, but through words.

From speeches that inspired nations to ideas that transformed societies, communication has always been the driving force behind human progress.

Now let us look at the modern world.

Imagine a student with excellent computer skills but poor communication.

Then imagine another student with good computer skills and excellent spoken English.

Who will perform better in an interview?

Who will impress international clients?

Who will represent a company at a global conference?

The answer is obvious.

The person who can communicate clearly and confidently.

Because employers today are not looking only for technical ability.

They are looking for communication, teamwork, leadership, confidence, and presentation skills.

And spoken English develops all of these qualities.

Ladies and gentlemen,

There is another important point.

Most advanced software, research papers, online courses, international meetings, and professional training materials are available in English.

Therefore, English is not the result of technology.

In many cases, English is the gateway to technology.

Without understanding English, learning advanced technology becomes much more difficult.

Now let me challenge the opposition with a simple truth.

Computers connect devices.

Spoken English connects people.

Computers transfer data.

Spoken English transfers ideas.

Computers process information.

Spoken English creates influence.

And in the real world, influence is more powerful than information alone.

Furthermore, excessive dependence on computers has created serious challenges.

Digital addiction, social isolation, reduced face-to-face interaction, misinformation, cybercrime, and declining communication skills are growing concerns around the world.

Technology has benefits, but it also has limitations.

Spoken English, however, builds confidence, personality, social connection, and leadership.

Ladies and gentlemen,

In the twenty-first century, success belongs not only to those who know something, but to those who can communicate what they know.

Knowledge is power.

But the ability to express knowledge is a greater power.

Before I conclude, let me leave you with one final thought:

A computer may help you find information.

But spoken English helps you share information, defend information, and turn information into opportunity.

Therefore, I firmly believe that spoken English is more powerful than computer skills.

Thank you.

Skills may open a door, but communication opens the entire world.

Computers connect devices, but spoken English connects people.

Computers transfer data, but spoken English transfers ideas.

Knowledge is power, but the ability to express knowledge is a greater power.

A computer is a tool; spoken English is a life-changing skill.
