Boycott Is Becoming an Effective Weapon — It Needs Wider and Stronger Use

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Kind.

All praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of all worlds.
Peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Honorable brothers and respected listeners,
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.

Today, I want to speak about an important topic.

The topic is:
Boycott is becoming an effective weapon, and it needs wider and stronger use.

Boycott is not only about stopping to buy something.
Boycott is a strong way to show our position.
It is a peaceful way to stand against injustice.

Since last October, the occupying state of Israel has killed many innocent Palestinian people. Many men, women, and children have lost their lives.

As a small protest against this killing and injustice, people started to use the weapon of boycott.

Today, there are more than fifty Muslim countries in the world. Muslims also have a large part of the world’s natural resources.

There are many rich Muslims in the world. They earn a lot of money every day.

But sadly, when millions of innocent and unarmed Palestinian men, women, and children are suffering, many Muslim leaders and rich people did not take strong steps to protect them.

They did not stand in an effective way against the ظلم and cruelty of the Zionist oppressors. The governments of many Muslim countries are busy saving their own power. They are busy with their own political fights.

Some of them have even made open friendship with the oppressors. And others are keeping silent in front of injustice.

At this time, ordinary Muslims around the world started some small actions. They made dua to Allah. They also gave small help and relief as much as they could.

Along with this, they started another important action. That action is boycott.

They stopped buying products from big international companies that give money and support to Israel.

This list includes soft drinks, shoes, beauty products, food, tea, and coffee brands.

At first, the boycott started in a small way. But as the killing in Gaza and Palestine became bigger and longer, the boycott also became stronger day by day.

Not only Muslims joined this boycott, many fair-minded non-Muslims also joined it.

Many products that are under boycott are used every day. Especially drinks, food, and beauty products.

People become used to these brands. These become part of their daily life.

So, changing these habits or stopping these products is not easy.

But strong faith and human feelings have helped many people stay in this boycott.

Many people did not only stop buying soft drinks from those big companies, but they also stopped drinking these unnecessary drinks completely.

This boycott has changed many people’s habits and made them more careful in their choices.

The positive effect of this boycott is now clearly visible in many countries.

These big multinational companies were once doing business with strong control. For many years, people could not find good alternatives to their products.

Because of this, they used to set high prices as they wanted, and ordinary customers had no choice.

But now their situation is becoming weak. We can feel sympathy when we see their condition.

There are many discounts and many free gifts. They are trying to attract people again.

They are even giving “buy one, get one free” offers, but still they are not able to bring back the boycotting people.

Now in some places, they are also giving free items with drinks and products.

In Middle Eastern countries and many other parts of the world, even in some non-Muslim countries, big stores and brand showrooms are showing this situation clearly.

It is well known that only a small group of people have joined this boycott voluntarily.

If this boycott movement can be made stronger through wide public awareness, then its impact will be much greater. It is not even necessary to explain how far its results can go.

There are also different groups in many countries who are against Islam. Some of them are criticized for using the money of Muslim consumers, while at the same time supporting the enemies of Islam.

In this way, they continue their business with large profits.

One example is that some businesses are said to give financial support to groups that are considered harmful to Islamic values. Because of this, people also include them in the boycott list.

Many of these companies spend huge amounts of money on advertisements. They also give large commissions to local shopkeepers, so that their products can easily enter the market.

In this way, they sell many types of products under different brand names.

Sometimes, their real company name is written in very small letters. Because of this, ordinary people may not easily understand who actually makes the product.

This is why awareness is very important for consumers, so that they can make careful and informed choices.

There is also a call from scholars and religious people to boycott the products of such groups.

If this call is properly followed and widely practiced, it will also bring a positive result.

There is no doubt that it can play an important role in society.

When people become aware and act together, their collective action becomes more powerful.

This can help people make better choices in what they buy and support.

A proposal is presented here. It is hoped that you will accept it sincerely.

Until now, we as business people and buyers have bought and sold many products. Some of these products were fully linked with Israel, or a part of their profit was used in support of Israel.

Now the real way to correct this mistake is as follows:

First, all Muslim business people and buyers should stop immediately and permanently from buying, selling, and dealing with such products.

Second, each person should set a fixed part of their income for the people of Gaza and Palestine. This is to make up for the profit that was previously used in the wrong way.

In this way, we can try to correct our past actions and support the victims in a better way.

I will continue this effort for a long time. So that I can say to myself:

“O Allah! Because of my ignorance, I may have helped Israel in the past. Now I am trying my best to give more support to the people of Gaza and Palestine. And I will continue this in the future, InshaAllah.”

“O Allah! Please forgive my past mistakes. And please accept my good efforts.”

I hope that through this, the heart will find peace and comfort.

And with time, Palestine may become stronger again with financial support and global awareness, by the will of Allah.

We pray that justice will come and oppression will end, and that the suffering of innocent people will be removed.

With the will of Allah, perhaps in a few years Palestine will be able to turn around and the name of Israel will be erased from the world map, InshaAllah!

With the will of Allah, perhaps through this, Palestine will be able to turn around again in a few years and the name of Israel will be erased from the world map, Insha'Allah! Through this, we will not only find peace in our hearts, but also blessings in our business and livelihood.

Along with business, this will also become a great service for Islam.

So let us begin this with courage in the name of Allah.

And when I collect a meaningful amount of money for the people of Palestine, I will hand it over to a trusted and reliable organization.

They will deliver this trust honestly to the responsible people in Gaza and Palestine.
